A Teenager’s Perspective on Food Restrictions: A Practical Guide to Keep from Going Crazy
When I was a teenager in the 1990’s, I didn’t know anyone with asthma, allergies, eczema or food sensitivities. Not one single person! Now, I hardly meet anyone who doesn’t have some chronic illness that is food or gut related.
What is it like to be a child with constant health struggles? How do you cope? What steps do you take to recovery?
When Erica was a child she suffered from various health problems and was on antibiotics almost chronically. As she grew up, other health problems popped up. She developed allergies to seemingly everything and things just got worse from there. By the time she was a teen, her health was debilitated and she and her mom knew something had to change. Things did!
Erica is 17 now and has written a short book about her health struggles and how she is continuing to overcome them. It’s so helpful to other teens and their parents to read so that they can be proactive in the healing process. I highly recommend this book to anyone going through a health struggle currently.
If you are a teen, are a parent of a teen, or know a teen with food restrictions, Erica has put together a Facebook group just for you! Head on over to Teens with Food Restrictions and join the conversation!
I hope if you are struggling with food restrictions that you will take the time to read through this book and know that you are not alone!
Be Nourished! Be Happy!
Disclosure: I was given a copy of the above mentioned book to review. I was not paid to write a review or compensated for my opinions. I wrote an honest review based on my opinion of the book.
